The Library within the Seminary campus at Tal-Virtu’ houses both the Seminary Library proper (originally founded by Bishop Alpheran Bussan in 1756) and the Library of the Foundation for Theological Studies set up in 1988 to support the work of the Faculty of Theology.

The Library holds some 30,000 volumes receives over 72 journals on subscription basis and another 70 on exchange or as gifts.

A special Melitensia collection is available, housing over 1000 items having a bearing on the Maltese Islands, its language and literature, and on the Order of St. John.  It includes a considerable number of pamphlets sorted out and filed under broad subject headings in 60 pamphlet boxes.  A collection of Theses on Theology and related subjects is also available in the Melitensia room.

A collection of old rare books and Archival material is accessible on demand.

A collection of Dictionaries and Encyclopaedias on general topics as well as specialised reference works on Theology and Philosophy is also available.
